Waldron Mercy Academy Offers a Popular College Tool

November 2, 2008
Bala Cynwyd, PA – Homework is a daily occurrence and task for most Elementary and Middle School students. Teachers have handed out assignments on paper to the students in class for many years. Waldron Mercy is taking a new approach to dealing with homework by embracing the use of their website, www.waldronmercy.org, as a tool.

Blackboard is a product used by most colleges to post homework assignments, teacher comments or even for students to upload assignments to in order to turn them in for a grade. Waldron Mercy has connected with TeacherWeb, an internet tool used to post homework assignments, announcements, calendars and other forms.

Every teacher at Waldron Mercy has a separate website that is linked to Waldron Mercy’s main site. Teachers post homework assignments, announcements, calendars and other forms which can be viewed by Parents, Students and anyone who is interested in viewing the information. Anyone can choose to communicate with the teacher by sending an email from the website. All documents are available in a printable version for ease of use.

GIM and Waldron Mercy have teamed up to implement this feature within Waldron Mercy’s innovative site. Through their partnership, Waldron Mercy has benefitted from GIM’s unique software. This software provides the tools for users of the website to create and edit content.

Trish Lockett, Director of Marketing and Communications for Waldron Mercy shares, “The software is so easy to work with. I'm a complete novice to Web site administration, and GIM continues to guide me every step of the way. Our Web site looks incredible!”

The capability of having a website that can be created and edited by multiple users is possible because of GIM’s innovative software, InfoServeCM. InfoServeCM is a suite of smart content and knowledge collaboration tools that enables organizations to empower their existing web sites from static, brochure style sites to dynamic content-managed sites. GIM has assisted a number of organizations in expanding their websites from basic HTML to dynamic content managed environments.

One of the main benefits of using InfoServeCM is the ability for anyone to add or edit content on the website without possessing any programming skills or knowledge of HTML. This means it's easy to keep the site current and to constantly deliver fresh information to website viewers to encourage them to return on a daily basis.

"InfoServeCM's greatest strength is that it offers the functionality of what would be several individual software applications that would have to be purchased and implemented separately. InfoServeCM's users have the ease of cohesiveness and breadth of functionality that is not available at this value price elsewhere in the market," noted Eli Avershal, founder and president of Global Internet Management.
